Attraction - Historical Sites and Heritage Locations, Mining and Industry, Visitor Information Centre The Energy Expo displays contain both visual aids such as computers with touch screens to allow user interaction with the information system, and displays of real equipment used in the power station. For those feeling fit enough there is exercise equipment to see just how much energy you can produce riding a bike, cranking a handle, or climbing simulated steps.
Much of the equipment in the plant is explained in the Energy Expo, including real examples of mill balls, coal, ash, turbine blades, fabric filter bags and a real section of a high voltage transmission line.
Groups of one or two are just as welcome as busloads and the seminar room seats 60. Very large groups should ring before arriving to ensure the guide has adequate equipment to cater for the group. Tours are of one to two hours duration and are free. Suitable shoes must be worn.
Open Time Expo open daily 9.00am - 4.00pm, Tours at 11.00am Monday - Friday, except on public holidaysClosed Christmas Day | |
